About Me
Hi, I’m Iz! I’m a STEM and violin tutor with a degree in biochemistry. Although I've had only a short career, I have spent it applying myself to research, teaching students, and learning with a passion. Whether you’re cramming for finals, memorizing biochemical pathways, or refining your violin technique, I design a strategy to help you reach your goals personally, academically, and musically. I’m here to help you not only reach your goals but truly enjoy the learning process.

My teaching philosophy
Here are a few core elements of my teaching philosophy:
1. There is no singular method that can effectively teach all students. Everyone is different and therefore I adapt how I teach to each student's learning style. When I begin my time with a new student, I first provide the student with a learning style assessment, created by me, that will help me determine the best strategies to teach that particular student.
2. This one is a message to you, my potential student, which is why it is written in a personal tone. As your tutor, I am not “training your brain”. I am teaching a whole person, including emotions, life circumstances, and mental health struggles. I am devoted to accounting for all of those things and being a support to you in all aspects of life.
3. I employ the scientific method when teaching. After each lesson, I analyze and assess my teaching strategies and modify them in accordance with what works best for each individual student. My strategies evolve with each lesson I teach.
